Calf Rope earns TEN nominations from the NYIFA

The New York International Film Awards (NYIFA) announced this morning that our coming-of-age family drama, Calf Rope, is now a finalist in ten categories for their May 2020 competition. The NYIFA monthly film contest holds a public screening event in the very heart of Manhattan,New York City every other month. According to the NIFYA website,"Our mission is to celebrate films and filmmakers from all over the world and to be the next step in their career."



Calf Rope received technical nominations for Best Editing (Ryan Geesaman), and Best Sound & Music (sound mix and design by John Avarese, orchestration & scoring by Ellie Brooke, and co-scoring & main theme by Bradley Hawkins). The film also earned a variety of acting nominations, one of which every member of the cast was included in as Best Ensemble. Additionally, Gorman Ruggiero was nominated for Best Actor, and for Best Duo along with 10-year-old Lukas Barnett, who was also nominated for Best Acting Debut and Best Child Actor. Director and Executive Producer of Calf Rope, Bradley Hawkins is a nominee for Best Director, and the film itself is nominated for both Best Short Film and for Best Inspirational Film (shorts & features). Winners for the May 2020 New York International Film Awards will be announced on Sunday, June 7th.
